Cold Harbor Restaurant in Mechanicsville

One of my two favorite places in Mechanicsville for small-town breakfast - great breakfast buffet if you want to stuff yourself, but plenty of good offerings on the menu (omelettes, sausage gravy, corned beef hash) that I've never been to the buffet! And of course good coffee...

New visitor to this restaurant and loved it. Very reasonable for a breakfast buffet. I would've given 5 stars but the corned beef hash was over-fried and dry. I wish I could give 4.5 stars. Great family atmosphere and satisfactory service.

Usually when I eat here the food is good. Today I ordered their country fried chicken and it was NOT good. It was over cooked and the crust had a funny after taste mixed with the gravy.

Rockfish special is on point every time. The place is full of nostalgia. A great place if you just want great food in a hometown atmosphere.

We got two eggs anyway you like ,two freshly made biscuits,two sausage patties, grits an order of shredded hashbrowns, free coffee fill ups for $24 dollars plus three dollar tip.The food was great all freshly made and more than we could eatThe service was great they were polite and checked on us twice. The restaurant was spotless, no noisy crowd but was a lot of people and hardly any wait! Great deal for two hungry men.

It was awful! The buffet is not worth $11.99. The eggs were sitting in grease or water, couldn't really tell you which. The salt herring was fried too hard, couldn't taste the fish. The pancakes and french toast were in a pan together and were cold! Matter of fact EVERYTHING WAS COLD! Go to pay for the food, I tell her everything was not good and it was cold. She says "did you tell your waiter?" No I am sorry for your first experience not being a good one...instead I need your money. Had to give it a star but totally no stars to give!!!!!!!!!!!

Best darn secret in Hanover....the owner Santos is a beautiful loving lady with a waitstaff you can't find anywhere else including her lovely children.....Great food fast service and cozy.....all through.

Great family business the food tast much better than cracker barrel. This has lots of choices and the prices are really great. The owners are very nice plus the staff are very pleasant. Everything about this Restaurant is a 10 + out does many of the eating places in Mechanicsville,Va. You must try this family owned Restaurant.I can't say enough about this restaurant but you got to try it. I love the food more than cracker barrels the taste is more better than any other food in Mechanicville Va area.the price is good for the amount.

Love this place. The service is spectacular and food is great. I ordered the early bird special, two eggs, three pancakes, and bacon. Ended up getting two big pancakes! Cashier, think her name was Debbie. Is so pleasant and sweet.

Love this place however love there breakfast only so far. Got a steak and cheese sub here and asked for extra meat and good thing i did because it was not a lot. paid around $11 and some change also asked for onions on it but there was an up-charge which was weird but i didn't add it. The sub wasn't my thing it was dry and had no taste. Love the breakfast tho.

Just okay. Busy. I went for breakfast. People are pleasant and friendly. Food is just basic breakfast dishes. Kinda bland.

I'd give them a 5 start rating normally but because they only had a sign on the door starting they were closed until the 30th of July we had a wasted trip. My husband loves the buffet due to unlimited bacon. I enjoy the hash. No gluten free options or non-pork sausage/bacon. Good family environment.

Good breakfast, cooked to order or the buffet. Friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere. A small town place that you can easily overlook - but shouldn't.

Cold Harbor Restaurant is a very good place to start your day. The menu is full of breakfast foods and also has a senior menu. The service is always good and friendly. We always enjoy our meal and will visit again soon.

All you can eat buffet for Sunday breakfast and it was some kinda good! They have the buffet on Friday and Saturday too. Plenty of specials on the regular menu, looks like they've got something for everyone. Friendly, efficient staff, a clean restaurant, lots of parking. They actually have salt herring on the buffet - something I haven't had since my grandfather passed away. Give them a try, but bring your appetite!

We've tried most of the breakfast places in Richmond and keep coming back to Cold Harbor. The portions are large, service is good and the prices are very reasonable.

Excellent breakfast buffet! Eggs, Bacon, sausage, toast, fish, grits, biscuits and gravy, fruits, cornbread, pancakes and I am sure I left out some things, but all were delicious!

Food is always the best ...one of my favorite spots to eat breakfast.

As Truck Drivers we have eaten in a lot of place. But the is Best Homemade Food. We have had since Virus started. The staff was Super Friendly. And Vety Helpful. Our order was exactly how we order it. Even all extra we ask for. They did a Amaxing Job! And Thank you for being open for All The Truck Driver's passing thru. We will Definitely be coming back if we get a load coming your way. Thanks again for everything

Beware of this place if you have any sort of diet restrictions. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich as the Friday lunch special, upon my return to work I find what does not look like tuna. I immediately called back and the blond who took my order told me she doesnt know what it is because she didn't inspect the order before serving it! I asked if she could check with the kitchen but apparently thats not possible. I had a co worker taste it who confirmed my theory. They gave me chicken salad instead of tuna salad. This would not be a big deal if i werent a pescetarian who can not eat meat. I know that seems strange to most people but its not that i done want to eat it its the fact that i can not eat it and would have gotten extremely ill if i weren't cautious.

went here this morning and it was amazing! food was delicious, prices were reasonable, and they made the food SO QUICKLY - i am still so impressed!!!!!!!!! and the employees were so nice, it was two women and they were just so polite and accommodating. they both deserve a raise! thank you for making my day

I drive almost every Saturday morning from Beaverdam, VA to Cold Harbor Restaurant and it is worth the drive. I would advise everyone to give them a try.U.S.Army RET

We love eating at local places but had never been here for breakfast. My husband ordered a veggie omelet (3 eggs, mushrooms, onions, peppers & tomatoes and your choice of white or wheat toast) with a side of grits & country ham. I ordered the huevos rancheros (2 eggs topped with onions, peppers & tomatoes) which comes with potatoes, bacon & toast or biscuits. His omelet was huge and the grits were creamy & nicely seasoned. My eggs were perfectly scrambled, completely covered with the sauteed vegetables and topped with 5 (yes, FIVE) slices of perfectly fried bacon. Home fries were wonderful. Biscuits were light and fluffy. The staff was attentive & friendly. Service was faster than I expected. We left fat & happy & will definitely be back to try the breakfast buffet.

Crowded. I think the food is standard. Nothing really to write home about. I know people love this place, my family is one of them, but for the crowd and price you can go to Golden Corral and get better variety for the price. Maybe I just haven't eaten the right thing? Staff was nice. The stars are average for the food.
